Third person bios are silly, so here we go!
I’m Erin, a freelance publicist, graphic designer and professional flutist based in Nashville, TN. Currently I work as Executive Assistant to the CEO of Al McCree Entertainment where I’m very involved in production advancing, office administration, virtual assistance, touring promotions and publicity, graphic design and digital royalties maintenance. During the weekend, you could find me making a batch of Cake Pops (yes, that would be cake on a stick) for a catering gig, working with a design client, performing with the Clearview Church orchestra, attempting to run another mile or creating a new set of earrings. I will read anything you put in front of me, so it’s highly possible that you’ll find my nose in a book, near a larger-than-is-socially-acceptable cup of coffee. I’m an amateur photographer who LOVES her camera (Canon Rebel 5T, in case you were wondering), so be warned—I click like the wind.
I have a B.S. in Music Business from Lee University. While in school, I was involved in several music ensembles and organizations on campus including the women’s music fraternity Sigma Alpha Iota where I was an officer for three years. In 2010 I returned to finish a M.M in Music Performance for Flute and Piccolo. I’ve auditioned for the Nashville symphony, subbed for the Sewanee Symphony for four seasons and gigged in Chattanooga, Atlanta and Nashville since my senior year of high school. I’ve taught privately in Chattanooga, Nashville TN and have been a studio instructor for The Catoctin School of Music in Washington, D.C. I’m in the Celtic group Dulcimer Dance with my mother Nancy Cardwell who is the Executive Director of the International Bluegrass Music Association. Nancy also sings in a caroling group The Coventry Carolers where I am is a substitute soprano. The caroling group has opened some interesting doors for me, one of which is winning a TV audition for Larry the Cable Guy’s Christmas Extravaganza (2007). CMT reruns this quite a lot, so if you see a blonde caroler in Buddy Holly glasses singing an unusual version of “Silent Night” …that’s me.
On November 11, 2012, I married Dustin Humann—IT Manager and Admin specialist at Naxos Music in Franklin, TN. I fondly refer to him as “Batman for Computers.” I’m not really a dog person, but I inherited Dustin’s adorable golden retriever Bella who is very difficult not to like. I fully believe it is Bella’s master plan to win me over within the year.
If you want a flutist, logo, cake pop or just feel like asking about the industry over a cup of coffee—feel free to contact me anytime.
